I love the snow! I love the way it sounds when it falls...the hush it creates and the blanket it lays. How it covers so much leaving it White As Snow.
Last night I was looking out the window and I remembered that all the snow was STILL going to be on my yard in the morning because the temperatures have been so cold and prepared the ground to hold on to the snow. God whispered to my heart that it is the same with us...when our ground is prepared...well, Mark 4 does a great job explaining my thoughts:
"The sower soweth the word. And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts. And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness; And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word's sake, immediately they are offended. And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word, And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitfulAnd these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred."
Preparing the fields is not labor free. It is not a task that takes care of itself. There is a cost...time...intentional planning...sore muscles...less sleep. In the end, God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. I want my heart to be the prepared soil...ready to receive his Word...ready to bring forth...ready for the snow!
I am praying today, for you. That you will be prepared soil and that your fruit will be 30, 60 and 100 fold for the kingdom!
