This past weekend, I was privileged to attend Sally Clarkson's Mom♥ Conference.  I have been attending these conferences for 4 or 5 years...I loose track... and always come away with heart ponderings, renewed zeal and encouragement to continue chasing after the things of God.  This year was no exception! I am always amazed at how many women attend the conference, only because I sometimes feel like a lone island in the middle of the sea when it comes to my child rearing convictions.  I know that I am following after God's will for my life...but it is sometimes a daunting task.  Seeing 600+ women...all with like minds...in one room, hearing them worship the One True God, Jesus... and hearing their testimonies of love, courage and faith is a balm to my weariness.  It is like breathing mountain air that is cool and crisp and invigorating!

I took away so many precious tidbit this weekend!  I hope to share them a little at a time...

Being INTENTIONAL is a huge concept in the forefront of my mind and heart.  I have been strongly convicted to live intentionally.  I try very hard to teach my children the difference between being intentional and simply "being".  I tell my children "I know you weren't TRYING to be rude...but you weren't trying NOT to be rude either!"  That is being intentional...putting forth effort to NOT live lackadaisically and in complacency.

Proverbs 14 talks about the Foolish Woman who tears down her house with her own hands.  This weekend Sally said "The foolish woman tears down her house in part from lack of intentionality." WOW!  You MUST intentionally build...just going with the flow doesn't cut it.  You are either building your house or tearing it down...one or the other....black or white.

Lack of intentionality leads to decay in our families.  Just as the paint on my walls will crack and peel over time...so will the condition of my children's heart if I do not intentionally work to repair, revitalize and recoat the walls of their hearts with the brilliant colors of God's word.

I pray that I will be intentional...that you will be intentional...and that we raise a generation that is intentional for Christ!
