Don't let anyone fool you! Following after God is NOT an easy thing to do. It is filled with sharp turns, u-turns and sometimes you move at speeds which make you uncomfortable...either too slow, or too fast. I'm not kidding!  It's a ride. Look at Noah, he loved the Lord with all his heart and soul and mind and God asked him to build an ark. AN ARK! The people hadn't even seen rain before! But Noah was faithful. Amidst the scoffers, he built. When his friends turned their backs on him, he built. For 55-75 YEARS, Noah built the ark. Do you think life was easy? Do you think Following the Lord's directions were EASY?

Moses. Following after the Lord wasn't easy for him either. When the Lord spoke to Moses, Moses followed. He marched right back to his homeland and delivered harsh words to the people he called family. That must have been hard. He saw plagues inflict pain on those he had loved and watched as they hardened hearts toward the Lord and toward him. That was not easy.

Jesus. WOW!  Again...not an easy road. Jesus' life was filled with tough decisions and hard lines that could not be crossed. His ministry was limited in his hometown because of His family. Many of his disciples jumped ship when the message was too hard for them. He was hungry, weary and tired after he ministered and scripture tells us he did not have a place to lay his head. And this isn't even touching the subject of His betrayal, His walk to Calvary, His torture at the hands of the soldiers and His gruesome death on the cross as he hung for our sins...as he bled for our redemption...as he cried out to His father in Heaven.

Scripture is FULL of people, Heroes of the Faith, that followed with reckless abandon after their Lord, but it never portrays the journey will be easy.

My life today doesn't look like Noah's, Moses or Jesus'. What the Lord asks me to do, on a daily basis, doesn't compare to building an ark to save my family, leading His people through the desert or giving my life for the salvation of the world...or does it?

God is asking each of us to seek Him and when we find Him to join Him in His work. As wives and moms we are called to build a safe haven for our husbands and children. One that is filled with the evidence of God so when the storms come...and they will...there is an ark waiting for them where inside its doors they may find rest and drink deeply of the Lord's provisions. We are called to lead HIS people, the lost sheep, the broken and weary, the ones in bondage to sin and death,  into the promise land and show them freedom is readily available and free for the taking. To show them His mighty, loving hand that is outstretched for their salvation. And for certain, He has asked us to lay down OUR lives, OUR desires, OUR goals, OUR agendas in order to offer salvation to the world He loves. To be willing vessels to do whatever He has called us to do.

No matter what He is asking us to do...it won't be easy...BUT IT WILL BE WORTH IT!

The Lord promises us in Matthew 11:33 that His burden is easy and His yoke is light. He tells us that he will never leave or forsake us (Deu 31:6-8). He sends us a Guide and a Comforter, the Holy Spirit to lead us (John 14:26, 16:13) . Jesus intercedes for us before the thrown of God. (Rom 8:34) Scripture tells us that God's ways are not our ways. (Isa 55:8-9)

If God is for Us, Who can be against us? (Romans 8:31)

Scripture also assures us with our obedience, always comes rewards. For He is a re warder of those who diligently seek him (Heb 11:6).

Noah's entire family was saved from the wrath of God and he was able to preserve creation as well. Not easy...but WORTH it.

Moses lead the Israelites out of Egypt...out of the hands of the oppressive Egyptian rule. He spent time with GOD! He spoke to God! He was used mightily by God to lead His people into a better life and break off their bondage. Not easy...but WORTH it.

Jesus. None compare in grief or suffering. Yet none can boast in the great prize that is set before Him as He is seated again at the right hand of the Father waiting to receive you and me into the kingdom of Heaven! Not easy...but WORTH it!

What is it that the Lord is asking you to do that is hard? I urge you to take a step of Faith and know that it will be Worth it in the end.

Katie
