I ponder what a Pure Heart must look like...the Greek translate as clean, clear, pure thoughts, feelings, mind.

"Blessed are the Pure at Heart: for they shall see God." Matthew 5:8

WOW!  That seems rather simple, yet why is it so hard for us to walk with clean, clear thoughts and feelings?  We don't take our thought life captive to the obedience of Christ!  Time and time again, scripture discussed the inner man and it's power to persuade our outer actions.  James says that sin is born of our own lusts (fleshly desires) and then, when we dwell on it, allowing it to capture us...it births sin. (James 1:14)

Many times, in our thought patterns, we re-enact or scheme or conjure up the happenings of a situation.  We have to be able to recognize the enemy even in our quiet thoughts.  If we let our thoughts conceive, or capture us, we then begin to weave a tangled web that sometimes leaves us blind to the actual situation.  We stir us emotions and judgements based on our OWN unclean, impure thoughts. We wonder why our prayer life and study is lacking.  Many times this can cause wedges in homes, relationships and ministries.

We must come before our God and ask HIM to show us where our thoughts and vain imaginations have lead us.  What LIES are we believing.  Who, besides ourselves, to we need to forgive and ask the God of all creation to paint a new picture in our mindset of the ones we hold in judgement.  If we don't... James goes on to say that after we our thoughts are conceived, or capture us, we sin...which leads to death. Death...a separation from God spiritually.

My prayer is that we will look at the real battle, for it is a spiritual battle, unseen to men.  The battle that rages in our thoughts and can births sin in our lives...even when NO ONE else sees.  It's fruit is either blessings, or curses...life or death.  It is the beginning of love, forgiveness, peace, patience, goodness...or it is spurs us to walk in jealousy, hate, lust, unforgiveness and disdain.

"For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)  Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;  And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled." 2 Corinthians 10:3-6

May we walk with a Pure Heart so we MAY SEE GOD!
