Deeper In

“It is as hard to explain how this sunlit land was different from the old Narnia as it would be to tell you how the fruits of that country taste. Perhaps you will get some idea of it if you think like this. You may have been in a room in which there was a window that looked out on a lovely bay of the sea or a green valley that wound away among mountains. And in the wall of that room opposite to the window there may have been a looking-glass. And as you turned away from the window you suddenly caught sight of that sea or that valley, all over again, in the looking glass. And the sea in the mirror, or the valley in the mirror, were in one sense just the same as the real ones: yet at the same time they were somehow different - deeper, more wonderful, more like places in a story: in a story you have never heard but very much want to know. The difference between the old Narnia and the new Narnia was like that. The new one was a deeper country: every rock and flower and blade of grass looked as if it meant more.” C.S. Lewis, The Last Battle

This passage rings in my heart. It’s a calling from my Lord, my Savior, my King. I keep hearing Him say “Deeper in and Further Up.”

Welcome!

Intentional Pursuit was conceived 6 months ago as God continued to speak to my heart about being Intentional and deliberate in all I do. It all began last year when we purchased a CD called Deliberate Kids for our children. It really wasn’t the CD (although we love it), but the artists’ (Phil Joel, the former Newsboys bassist) convictions that God used to woo me closer to Him. He and his lovely wife are passionate about living deliberate and Intentional lives. I am a long way from where I want to be in my walk with Christ. The closer I draw to Him…the further I know I need to go, and yet the more of Him he gives.

"Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God,and he will draw nigh to you.” James 4:7-8a

I love the promise that as I pursue God…he in turn, pursues me. I pray that I will live in Intentional Pursuit of my God and Savior every moment of my life. That I can teach my children to live Intentionally Pursuing Christ. I know that I will fall short of my goal at times, but I resolve to get up and begin again. My prayer for my blog…to Glorify my Saviour and King, Jesus Christ…to lift high His great works in my life… and to encourage those  who read to live life Intentionally Pursuing God.
