This weekend, as I was preparing for my daughter's birthday party, my husband started laughing at me.  I didn't know why.  I was simply going about my business getting the preparations finished. So I asked him what was so funny. His reply..."You're just so creative.  Your good at that."

I do love to create.  I haven't always been that way and I don't spend a lot of time doing crafty things, but I do love to create and to make things beautiful and fun.

As I made the traditional birthday pancakes for my daughter, I thought back to what Hubby said. As I pondered, the Lord reminded me that I am made in HIS image!

Well...there you have it!   God is the MASTER creator.  The stars and universe were HIS ideas made into reality as He spoke them into existence.  He is the painter of the sunrises and sunsets. He is the master orchestrator of the symphony we hear in the summer evenings as the frogs join the cicadas to sing out their songs.  He is the one who created the tiny intricacies of the butterfly wings.  He is the one who created ALL things...and He created us in His image.

And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. Genesis 1:26-27

God made us to reflect HIM. We were made with His creativeness!

My point is...when you feel like "I'm not creative...I wish I was like so-n-so and could...I just can't think like that.." STOP and ask the Lord to stir up His creativity in you and He will. He made you like Him so we can BE like Him!

So, instead of speaking death over your creative skill...speak LIFE and step out in faith.  Go plant those flowers, ice that cake, make that card, cook that special meal, write that poem, paint that wall, design that space, mix that music, wear that new combo in your closet...whatever the creative area is...walk in the creativeness the Lord has already indwelt in your very make-up.  You will love it...and after a while...people will begin saying...

"You are so creative, I wish I could...."  Just remember to give the Master Creator the glory!

Happy creating

Katie
